Holiday - The Packing

Hello all, I hope you are well, I am feeling very inspired at the moment being on holiday in such a beautiful location.

My current location: Helmsdale, Scotland.

See where the A is, that is where we are about 60miles north of Inverness and 50 miles south of John O' Groats. You know, pretty north. We are literally in the middle of no where, the nearest supermarket is a 30 mile drive. We of course have the little shops but these can become really expensive if you were doing a shop for 5 people for a week.

When going on these type of holidays it is always so much harder to pack for, because the weather in the UK can be very unpredictable, normally you are able to get a general idea of the week before you leave however you can never know what they day will bring until it comes around. I decided I would be helpful and write a small check-list of the things I have bought for the next 7 days.
What To Pack:
I recommend just packing for how you dress for a week at home, I like to take a couple of skirts, couple of pairs trousers, couple of pairs shorts and a dress or two. As well I like to take a nice 'Going Out' outfit because normally we would venture out for dinner one night. Then whatever tops you would normally wear (Shirts T-Shirts, Blouses, Polos, Rugbys, Vests, whatever tickles your pickle)
- One Thick Jumper
- One Standard Jumper
- Waterproof Jacket
- Waterproof Trousers (optional)
- Pack enough socks to last you two pairs a day. If you are going to be walking a lot you never know when your feet may get wet.
- Walking boots, if you know you are going to be doing a lot of walking especially on uneven ground they are a must. You will notice the difference and seriously benefit from it at the end of the day.
- Wellington boots
- Comfy clothes just to relax in your house in. You never know what the weather will be like so if you just wanted a relaxing day at home because the weather isn't that great then you don't want to be lounging about in. Think 'Duvet Day' clothes.

On Days Out
You ideally need a small over the shoulder bag, enough to fit a tiny bottle of water for when you get thirsty. Nothing worse than being half way up a big hill with no water in sight and gasping for a drink. Also in this bag usually carry antibacterial hand gel, antibacterial wipes, bobby pins and spare hair bands finally some hand cream. Then with whatever room left in your bag then you can have your essentials like purse, camera, phone etc and then anything else you like to keep in your bag. I like to try and find a bag as small as possible as I have an awful habit of filling bags so the smaller it is the less crap that can get stored in it.

Finally
It is important to remember to have fun, it is a holiday after all. Chance are you will get wet but if you are lucky and manage to avoid it then you are lucky.
