Today we visited a Distillery. This was the one thing I wanted to do most on the holiday because I am fascinated by the production of alcohol. Living in Bury St Edmunds the home of Greene King brewery and working in a Greene King pub as well as my pure love for cider has made me really passionate about alcohol production. So going to a distillery was amazing, the Women, Clare, we had to lead our tour was amazing, she was really passionate about whiskey and you could tell she loved whiskey as well. The only shame was that we were not allowed to take pictures within the distillery themselves because it was a working environment. At the end of the tour we got to try a dram (shot) of the Clynelish 14 year old whiskey. It was awful, it burned the back of my throat and it felt like I was drinking pure alcohol. However it did repeat on me (lovely I know) but that taste was actually enjoyable. I do not think I will ever be a whiskey drinker. I think I will stick to the cider and wine. Not at the same time though I reckon that would really put me in a bad way.
After the Distillery we just went to the Falls of Shin again to use their cafe for lunch because of how lovely it was when we went for coffee the other morning. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and the usual things you do on holiday.
Here are the few photos I have from today.
